This week in class we have been presenting out concept ideas to Juliet Colman from King Games. She has been giving us feedback on how to improve our game. One of the ideas she has given us was to have the crystals as boosts instead of something the player has to collect because it would sort of lay the path out for the player already and make it less challenging to pass the levels. Also, the player can choose if they want a boost and risk losing moves or just go straight to the exit. (right now the player is a splodge, it will be a very cute explorer when all the artwork is finished)
The boosts in the game will be crystals, me and my team have not yet decided what the boosts will be however they will somehow make the game a little easier for the player if it is too difficult. We also may implement a 'skip level' feature, so the player is encouraged to keep going rather than giving up and deleting the game.
I have been working on implementing the first 5 levels in Unity, here are some sneak peaks:

The plan is to create the first 5 and the last 5 levels and then create 25 concept levels in photoshop to show what the whole game would look like. Due to the time scale it would be quite tricky to implement all 35 fully working levels in Unity.
