Project Proposal

This week has been a bit slow in terms of actual programming. I have been mostly focused of getting the proposal finished for this game as it is due in a few days. The proposal highlights the key features of my game, what technologies I will use, some games that are similar to mine and obviously the social, ethical and legal side of things too and more.


At the beginning of the week I did do a little programming. I have decided to use the old input system as for me, it was too much to learn about how the new system works in such a short amount of time, with limited tutorials and guides as it is quite recent. I felt like I was slightly wasting time trying to figure out how to make it work rather than just working on the actual game. The system was really interesting though because instead of finding out what the X button or what R2 was called in Unity for example ‘joystick button 1’, ‘joystick button 2’, etc. You just pressed ‘listen’ and pressed the button on the controller that you wanted to use for that specific feature. That was definitely a time saver but what came after was a lot. I will definitely learn this system as it is the way forward, just maybe not for this project as I am under a time limit.


In the upcoming week I will be focusing on implementing artificial intelligence on my enemies!
