The Villian!

This week I have been working on the last part of the character bios which is our villain – Cedric! I found this one the most difficult because the backstory to him had to be really strong. Usually with the villains, something traumatic or life changing has happened to them to make them as evil as they are.

I started off with writing some notes down about somethings that I definitely wanted to include in his bio for example, he was a scammer, he stole items and sold them, his father didn’t want him, etc.

So, I thought about how things were in the past and how it was a ‘sin’ to have a baby out of wedlock so that’s what I wrote and that would make sense as to why his dad never wanted him and then just by writing things down, I got more and more ideas. One of them was that his mum didn’t want anyone to know she had a child, so she moved to the edge of town and he wasn’t allowed to leave, so he didn’t have any friends, he didn’t have basic social skills.

The reason he was a scammer was because his mother wasn’t a great mother, so he would sneak out and steal food, so he wouldn’t starve, and he would steal people’s possessions and sell them so that he could get money. I made sure that everything adds up to why he is as evil when he is a grown up.
